Founded on June 23, 1926, Chapter 111 is a longstanding pillar of Hellenic culture and civic engagement in the Elmira area.

Although less active in recent decades, Chapter 111 continues to participate in regional and national AHEPA events when possible.

The chapter’s mission aligns with AHEPA’s core ideals: Hellenism, education, philanthropy, civic responsibility, family, and service to others, supporting immigrant integration and cultural heritage from its inception.

Founding
During World War II, the chapter supported the war effort by selling over $40,000 in U.S. war bonds in April 1943 alone and raising funds for Greek refugee relief.
Built and opened a dedicated AHEPA hall at 129 E. Chemung Place, featuring a temple, dining hall, reception and meeting rooms.
Hosted its first district 6 convention at the Mark Twain Hotel in 1939, and again in 1948, 1955, and 1966
