AHEPA Chapter 186, famously known as the “Hermes” chapter, is rooted at the Saint Demetrios Cathedral in Astoria, one of the oldest and once-largest AHEPA chapters in the nation.

 

Recent Highlights

​

• Hosted the 83rd Annual New York State (District 6) Convention in June 2019 at St. Demetrios and the Petros Patrides Cultural Center—welcoming delegates statewide and civic leaders like George Zouvelos and Ilias “Lou” Katsos (thenationalherald.com).

• Held its 2nd Annual Tsipouro Night on February 26, 2022, bringing together Ahepans across NYC for food, fellowship, and Greek spirits (thenationalherald.com).

• Organized the traditional Vasilopita cutting on January 10, 2023, with District 6 Governor Dean Moskos in attendance (thenationalherald.com).
