AHEPA Chapter 77 – “LEONIDAS” – Binghamton, NY
Founded in 1925, AHEPA Chapter 77 has proudly served the Binghamton community for nearly a century, promoting Hellenic values of education, philanthropy, civic duty, and cultural pride. A historic chapter, it is an enduring presence as one of the early AHEPA chapters in New York State, consistently fostering Greek-American heritage and community leadership.
Recent Highlights

In November 2024, Chapter 77 hosted its 5th Annual Coat Drive, collecting and distributing hundreds of coats, gloves, hats, and socks to students across nine local schools, in partnership with Visions Federal Credit Union, affirming its growing reputation for impactful community outreach.

The chapter also marked Greek Independence Day in March 2024 with a public flag-raising ceremony at Binghamton City Hall, featuring city officials and AHEPA leadership, accompanied by a formal proclamation honoring Greek heritage.

In March 2024, the chapter initiated new members, growing its roster to 23 active brothers under President Alex Kermidas, continuing a strong tradition of fraternity and civic service.

In 2021, Chapter 77 hosted the 85th Annual AHEPA District 6 Convention June 18-20. About 40 delegates attended in-person with another 35 joining remotely. Supreme Governor Tom Dushas was in attendance representing the Supreme Lodge. The Convention Chairman was Past District 6 Governor Ted Stamas. AHEPA Supreme President George Horiates delivered remarks remotely.
