This weekend in the US we celebrate the national Federal holiday of Independence Day commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 which formally explained its independence (Independence was actually declared on July 2, 1776 by the Second Continental Congress) from Great Britain in order to achieve its freedom from British rule. The Declaration of Independence which was much publicized at the time set in motion the American Revolution. It is an inspirational document treasured by many freedom loving people throughout the world and its words never to be forgotten. Enjoy the holiday.
A sincere THANK YOU to the delegates to the fraternal Order of AHEPA’s 84th Annual Empire State (NY) District 6 Virtual Convention for the honor and privilege of being re-elected AHEPA Governor of the District, and Congratulations (!!!) to all the District Lodge officers who were also re-elected. Congratulations also to the Shrine AHEPA Chapter #500 for being named Chapter of the Year, to George Zouvelos for being named AHEPAN of the Year, and Bobby Gemelas and Mike Labatos for each being the recipients of the Exceptional Service Award. I will shortly announce the District Directors for the 2020-2021 year and thank this past year's Directors for their tirelessly service to the District.
